Biography

Sachin was born in India, where he spent the first twenty years of his life and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He later moved to the United States and completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. While building a successful career as a chemical engineer, he continued to nurture his lifelong passion for fine art, studying at the Yard School of Art at the Montclair Art Museum (NJ) and at The Art Students League of New York.

Recently retired from full‑time engineering, Sachin now devotes himself fully to printmaking and the broader field of fine art. His work has been donated, exhibited, and sold primarily to support charitable causes, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Multiple Myeloma Society, American Cancer Society, Doctors Without Borders, and Visual AIDS. His prints are held in private collections around the world, and his work was recently acquired for the permanent collection of the New York Public Library.

He was elected to the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) in 2023 and currently serves as the Recording Secretary. Sachin was selected for the 2026 artist showcase by the Print Club of New York.  Sachin was the recipient of the 2025 Kuniyoshi Award from The Art Students League and was an artist‑in‑residence at the Kala Art Institute in 2026. His prints have earned multiple honors, including the red dot (Best in Show) at the Art Students League Student Salon in 2022, 2023, and 2025, as well as an honorable mention in 2024. He received an honorable mention at the Awagami International Mini Print Exhibition (Japan). His work has received the Robert Conover Memorial Award at the 2023 SAGA Annual Members Show, second prize at the 2024 Mini Gems Print Show (SAGA), and second prize at the 2022 Salmagundi Club Juried Print Show.

Working across multiple mediums—including oil, mixed media, watercolor, and a wide range of printmaking processes such as intaglio, relief, lithography, and photopolymer—Sachin brings both technical rigor and experimental curiosity to his practice. His work reflects a deep commitment to craft, innovation, and the power of printmaking to foster dialogue and community.
